Comedy court

by Rifhan Rasuli

Comedycourt is one of my favourite comedians lately. It is made up of two Malaysian Indians, and most of their jokes are about the political issues in Malaysia. Well, at least they are far better than some Malaysian comedians who make stupid and dirty jokes.

Normally when we talk about politic, the atmosphere would be dull due to the seriousness of the discussion topic. If it has been so for so long, certainly, what a boring life, at least from my point of view. Political jokes or parodies are not new in Western countries, but in Malaysia such a genre is still quite unfamiliar, perhaps due to restriction to talk about sensitive issues among the civil servants, students and others.

Putting some senses of humour into the serious issues such as politic, would surely make them more open to discussion as well as exposing and informing the public about current issues. Hopefully it can also reduce the tense that arises between groups of people with different political believes. No private feud except when it comes to election and public or national issues. Lets take example from the way the Western politicians behave; the difference in ideas is another thing, but friend is still a friend.
